People all across the world shift into a seasonal awareness in November where they focus on what they’re thankful for. Thanksgiving Day is when “thankfulness” reaches its peak. This way of thinking persists into the New Year and then wanes shortly after.

You don’t have to stop being thankful, though. You can be thankful every day of every year. It’s not that hard. All you have to do is take a moment and think about the good things happening all around you. Some “old folks” call this “counting your blessings.”

What are you thankful for this year? For some of us, it’s our health. For others, a steady job. Still for others, it’s family. Whatever you’re thankful for, we hope you cherish and enjoy it for years and years to come. At MOHDC SmartStart we’re thankful for so many things, but we’re mostly thankful for all of you!

Why not give it a try? Take a few moments in a calm environment and think about what you’re thankful for. It doesn’t have to be anything earth-shattering. It could be something as simple as having clean teeth. Or being thankful that the landlord painted with the colors you chose. Or that you found a good price on produce this week. So give it a try. With so many things happening around you’re sure to find something to be thankful for!
