At the Board
Once per month our older afterschool students hold a democratic election to see who will serve in the various jobs for the class. They run the entire process themselves (with any necessary coaching by the teachers).
Sometimes the nominations heat up and other times it runs smoothly. Through it all, they learn the process, work on self-management skills, and learn to take turns.
